Our Partial Hospitalization Program

At Life Stages we are committed to helping individuals facing substance use challenges receive the care they need. Our Partial Hospitalization Program—often referred to as day treatment—offers a structured and intensive level of support for those who require comprehensive treatment without overnight stays. This program is ideal for individuals whose circumstances call for a flexible, non-residential approach to recovery.

Day Treatment for Addiction

Our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) provides a smooth transition from residential to outpatient care, reducing the risks associated with a decrease in care level. This structured treatment option runs from 8:45 am to 5:00 pm, five days a week, allowing clients to receive evidence-based therapies without the need for overnight stays. Participants can return home or reside in supported sober living environments while benefiting from individualized treatment in both one-on-one and group settings.

What is Supported Sober Living?

Supported sober living is a key component in the transition from inpatient to outpatient care, providing a balanced and supportive environment for those in early recovery. This approach integrates housing and therapeutic support to ensure safety, accountability, and relapse prevention while individuals focus on healing and personal growth.

PHP treatment combined with sober living offers continuous support, reinforcing early recovery efforts and relapse prevention.

Residents are held accountable with safety protocols such as breathalyzer and urine screenings.

Clients engage in deep emotional therapy to address past traumas while fostering personal growth.

Residents experience a balance of structure and freedom as they reintegrate into daily life with continuous support.

Structured Healing: The Benefits of Partial Hospitalization

At Life Stages, clients in our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) continue working with the same dedicated team of licensed and credentialed professionals. This ensures a consistent and comprehensive approach to care, including ongoing medical services, psychiatric referrals, and the integration of alternative treatment options to support emotional and physical healing.

Consistent Medical And Psychiatric Support

Clients receive continuous medical care, medication management, and psychiatric referrals as necessary.

Holistic Therapies and Residential Oversight

Clients follow engage in alternative therapies like Yoga, Reiki, and Acu-Detox, with residential staff support for safety and structure.

Personalized Clinical Support

Clients maintain ongoing individual and family therapy with their assigned primary counselor to focus on emotional healing.

Customized Recovery Focus

Each client develops a treatment plan addressing their recovery needs, from addiction understanding to emotional growth.

Why Partial Hospitalization Programs Work

Partial Hospitalization Programs provide a highly structured yet flexible treatment option for individuals needing more intensive care without full-time residential admission. Designed to match the level of support to each person’s needs, PHPs allow clients to actively participate in comprehensive, evidence-based therapies while maintaining some independence in their daily lives.

12-Step Support
Groups

Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA) offer structured 12-step programs that empower individuals to build healthy coping mechanisms and develop strategies for navigating life free from addiction.

Acudetox

Auricular detoxification, or Acudetox, is a healing technique that targets specific points on the ear through acupuncture or acupressure. This method supports detoxification and helps soothe the nervous system, promoting a sense of calm.

Amino Acid Therapy

By supplementing the body with targeted amino acids—the essential components of proteins—this therapy helps balance brain chemistry, reduce cravings, and ease the discomfort commonly experienced during early stages of recovery.

Educational Recovery Groups

Group education sessions provide clients with knowledge about the nature of addiction while equipping them with cognitive and behavioral tools to prevent relapse, repair relationships, and cultivate lasting healthy habits.

Therapeutic Groups & Individual Counseling

Group psychotherapy offers a safe, supportive space where clients can express emotions and share experiences under the guidance of a licensed clinician. One-on-one sessions allow for deeper exploration with a personal counselor.

Understanding Polyvagal Theory

Polyvagal Theory highlights how our nervous system shapes our responses to stress. It explains three core states, ventral vagal (safe and social), sympathetic (fight-or-flight), and dorsal vagal (shutdown). Recognizing these states helps individuals.

Nutritional Wellness

Our nutrition education program teaches the role of food in mental and physical health, especially for those in recovery. Clients learn to identify nutritional deficiencies, manage sensitivities, and make informed dietary choices that support energy, mood stability, and overall recovery.

Brainspotting Therapy

Brainspotting is a powerful mind-body technique that locates and processes trauma stored deep within the brain and body. By identifying specific eye positions—linked to emotional pain—clients can safely access and resolve distress. This method is especially for facing trauma.

When to Begin Partial Hospitalization for Addiction

Our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) is ideal for individuals stepping down from residential care or beginning treatment directly from home. A comprehensive bio-psycho-social assessment is conducted to determine if PHP is appropriate, taking into account withdrawal risks, mental and physical health, motivation, and the stability of the client’s living environment. For those transitioning from residential treatment, readiness is based on meaningful group participation, adherence to program guidelines, and completion of essential milestones.
